Bury Jill Stein With Hillary Clinton

With reflection I’m starting to think this election has been terribly underrated. Not only did we see Hillary Clinton completely destroyed politically for all eternity, and thoroughly humiliated, she entertainingly coughed, siezedtripped and collapsed all the way to the surprise ending. She’s clearly in the grip of some serious, though delightfullly slapstick-inducing health problem that we can happily trust will get worse, especially now that her spirit is irretrievably crushed.

Green Party prez candidate Jill Stein seems entirely free of entertaining health problems, but I am getting a giddy suspicion that at least her political death is at hand and that she may take the Greens with her. Watching her disgustingly reactionary and partisan appeal for a recount makes me realize I have been far too easy on third parties, when it’s painfully obvious they’re just a heat sink for lefties too woke for the  Democrats. Since the Democratic Party is no longer taken seriously by anyone who isn’t a complete waste of oxygen, let’s go scorched earth on all its enablers, starting with riff raff like Stein.

I’m lazy so I am grateful that Stein has, in the past week or so, made the case for burying her next to Hillary all by herself. It’s really rather sad — well, no, more like repulsive and sickening — to watch people offer 11 dimensional chess theories to explain Stein’s striking resemblance of late to the worst DNC offal.  Why are people so desperate for famous allies that they tell themselves stupid stories to avoid the obvious? Grow up, you big babies. The sooner you realize you have only enemies in high places, the better off we’ll all be.

Look at this petition Stein provided to Wisconsin. Featuring talking points about nefarious “foreign operators” — looking at you, Vlad! — breaching voter databases and — horrors — infiltrating the “email systems of the Democratic National Committee and a campaign official for Democratic Presidential Candidate Hillary Clinton” it could have, and may well have, been written by a DNC staffer or one of its patrons. Most sickeningly, Stein cites the joint statement of the Department of Homeland Security and The Office of the Director of National Intelligence, which, without offering any evidence, intimated that the email breaches were an attempt by Russia “to interfere in the US election process.”

Stein includes the full joint statement from the Homeland Security web site among the petition’s exhibits, along with articles from Wired, the New York Times and the NBC Nightly News fingering Russia as the source of the DNC email hacks. Indeed, the email breach and other alleged breaches unrelated to voting machines make up Stein’s entire  “case” for the Wisconsin recount, which claims there were voting irregularities without stating what they were and is entirely bereft of any evidence there was tampering with the state’s voting machines themselves.

Stein’s Exhibit 1 is an affidavit from University of Michigan professor J. Alex Halderman who led the group of scientists that kicked off this effort when they called on Clinton to seek a recount in battleground states. His affidavit, like the petition to which it’s attached, provides no concrete evidence of vote irregularities or tampering, and builds its case on the email breaches and the alleged Russian hacking of Ukraine’s 2014 presidential election.

Even if Stein’s focus weren’t entirely on three states Clinton lost and even if her petitioning didn’t recapitulate evidence-free DNC scare-mongering about Russian interference, the recount campaign would still be some seriously shitty shit. Who can justify prolonging an election cycle that seemed endless months ago, with yet one more “transparency” spectacle that, by focusing on minor details, whitewashes systemic cancer.

Let’s recall that in 2012, Stein and her running mate that year, Cherie Honkala, were arrested and handcuffed to chairs for eight hours, when they attempted to enter the presidential debate site at Hofstra University.  Did that experience teach Stein nothing? Like that there may be better things for her to do in late 2016 than antfuck the “integrity” of a contest between two ruling class monsters, on behalf a thoroughly corrupt candidate that cheated her way to the nomination and threatened a military response to Russian cyberwarfare?

There are only two possibilities for what’s going on here. One is that Stein is a complete fraud and is simply running errands for a Clinton campaign concerned about the “optics” of seeking the recount on their own. The other is that Stein is pursuing some other agenda, and, with uncharacteristic pragmatism, framing the recount in a way that will attract maximum financial support for that agenda from Clinton’s supporters.

Since she has said surplus money raised for the recount will go toward “election integrity efforts and to promote voting system reform” there seems to be no potential outcome to redeem her partisan, russophobic clowning, and indeed, even Stein’s party has officially abstained from endorsing the project. The Green Party Steering Committee also laudably rejected her request that the Party open up a bank account to accommodate much larger single donations than finance rules permit for the Stein-Baraka campaign account.  Since the projected fees for Stein’s hand-picked attorney keep going up, it could be that Stein is simply in the can’t beat ’em join ’em phase of her political evolution and taking a cue from the peerlessly self-dealing candidate on whose behalf she’s now making an ass of herself.

Whatever her game is, it’s been a financial boondoggle. On the first day of fundraising, donations poured in at a rate of over $125,000 per hour and the total haul is now around 5 million. This hardly seems like the kind of grass roots, small donor effort Stein’s crunchy brand sits well with. Of course Stein can’t possibly know where all this money is coming from, but that hasn’t kept her  from sneering at George Soros theories, with characteristic witlessness. Since this kind of sneering is fast becoming the calling card of the professionally duplicitous, like risibly phony “communist” Taryn Fivek and the anti-Russian “fake news” clowns, it’s one more reason to conclude Stein is a pernicious charlatan that will, with any luck, soon self-destruct.

UPDATE 3

Now Stein’s running mate, Ajamu Baraka, has come out against the recount. Via walterglass4.

UPDATE 2

In the interest of fairness, I offer this just-discovered defense of the recount from Bruce Dixon of Black Agenda Report. I respect Dixon, and no doubt a lot of my readers do too, but this is an evasive, entirely unpersuasive one-noter about voter disenfranchisement that entirely ignores the russophobic, DNC stench of Stein’s appeal; the exclusive focus on battleground states in which Clinton lost; and the undemocratic way in which Stein is going about her campaign in relation to her party.  Disappointing to see Dixon on this bandwagon.

UPDATE

Via our pal nosoyyo, here’s a statement by prominent Greens, posted today (November 28) on the Margaret Flowers for Senate repudiating Stein’s recount campaign:

There are significant electoral reforms needed to make elections more democratic and more representative of the people. While we support electoral reforms, including how the vote is counted, we do not support the current recount being undertaken by Jill Stein.

The decision to pursue a recount was not made in a democratic or a strategic way, nor did it respect the established decision making processes and structures of the Green Party of the United States (GPUS).  The recount has created confusion about the relationship between the Green and Democratic parties because the states chosen for the recount are only states in which Hillary Clinton lost. There were close races in other states such as New Hampshire and Minnesota where Clinton won, but which were not part of the recount. And this recount does not address the disenfranchisement of voters; it recounts votes that were already counted rather than restoring the suffrage of voters who were prevented from voting.

As a candidate, Dr. Stein has the right to call for a recount. However, we urge the GPUS to distance itself from any appearance of support for either Democrats or Republicans. We are well aware of the undemocratic actions taken during the primaries by the DNC and the Clinton campaign. Greens cannot be perceived to be allied with such a party.

It wasn’t just “administrative assistance” she wanted from the national party. She wanted the party’s extra $10,000 limit for those “grassroots” contributors. She had to make do with just two state parties @ $10,000 each plus her campaign limit of $2,700.

  2. roastyagain says:

I have a feeling she is dog whistling her candidacy for the the next figurehead of the Dems with all of this. Election reform is a nice way of positioning herself to end-run Bernie by signaling “hey I know you didn’t vote for Hillary because she’s a psycho elite with blood dripping from her fangs, so when the Party turns pseudo-left to regain the Bernie defectors, think of me not him.”

And the Red Dawn bat signal is her making her clean break from the Greens by going full NATO hawk.

    Pure speculation.

Or maybe she really is just trying to beat that cash piñata to death, I don’t know.

    • Tarzie says:

I had wondered about her defecting to the New Improved Democrats myself. Quite possible. A deal may have already been made. She certainly seems to be following orders like a paid hack. But unless she significantly raises her profile and stature through the recount show, I reckon the Dems will just stab her in the back. She offers them very little.

      • roastyagain says:

I mostly agree, though I can conceivably see some Dem strategists making the calculation that they would have won based on women voters had Hillary not been such a ghoul, so maybe Stein becomes the good ‘socialist woman’ to rebuild the brand.

      • Tarzie says:

Yeah. She’s just raw material with a useful brand. They can turn her into anything.

    • robert says:

“antfuck” & “the red dawn bat signal.” nice. roasty makes a good case that she’s seen the light shining in the darkness of her political career so now she can…tag team sheep herd w/Liz Warren? something like that seems in the works. the obama admin is all like “peaceful transition” and fuck this recount jazz cuz our elections are the most securest ever. .

      • Tarzie says:

Yeah, I love “red dawn bat signal.”

      • roastyagain says:

Haha thank you- I also just re-read the post and noticed you said she name dropped Wired regarding the Russians; they have been hanging on in my newsfeed for the occasional good device review, and MAN do they hate Russia, literally not a week goes by without a handful of ‘blame Russia’ snipes in their articles. I’ve had a draft post for a month or two now on tech blogs that up the russophobe stakes consistently and they’re top of the list.

    • No soy yo says:

I’m not convinced the Dems will turn even pseudo-left. The messages are: non-voters (especially those “Bernie or Bust” folks) and Stein voters gave us Trump; even Stein thinks Trump is a different kind of evil, thus her working for a recount where Trump won by “narrow” margins; everything bad happening now and for the next four years is because of Trump; Trump is Hitler; anyone is better than Trump; Trump is ruining our already-great, already-democratic nation.

I don’t see these as calls to move to the left — I see these as calls for non-voters and some Trump voters to feel guilty for four years while the Dems move further to the right, perhaps w/ a bit of “populism” thrown in.

I do agree with your take that she’s “dog whistling” though. I have never really paid much attention to the Greens, but I found the discussion of the NGO Culture that Jill is part of interesting in that Counterpunch article I linked to above. Because nothing says “join the Democratic Party fold” like NGO Culture does.

      • roastyagain says:

“I don’t see these as calls to move to the left — I see these as calls for non-voters and some Trump voters to feel guilty for four years while the Dems move further to the right, perhaps w/ a bit of “populism” thrown in.”

This is a very good point- and to be clear I don’t see it as any real leftward movement. I think you’re right in that its disciplinary in some regards.

More what I meant was that they can *appear* left enough through someone like Stein, as a contrast to Trump OR Hillary, that they can draw in Bernie voters. The carrot is a “leftist” like Stein (insofar as how ‘leftist’ is viewed in American electoral politics), the stick is the “BECAUSE OF YOU WE NOW HAVE FASCIST TRUMP” to browbeat 3rd party & nonvoters as you point out.

      • No soy yo says:

Yes, we’re definitely in agreement about the “faux” part. I think that her role is to boost the idea of “lesser evil” voting — her offer to Sanders to be on the ticket supported LOTE and this does too. The idea that the two parties have significant differences and LOTE voting were both severely undermined this election, and the protests, and now the recount, serve to prop them back up. So does all this research and discussion about why (non-neo Nazi) people voted for Trump. No one’s asking why people voted for Clinton despite her murderous record. I’m not sure that Stein can directly deliver Green voters or Bernie voters, but she can do a lot to dispel the idea that LOTE is morally bankrupt with her focus on “irregularities” and “foreign agents.”

  3. Joey V. says:

Do you have an opinion on Greg Palast (@greg_palast)? I respected his work before the election, then became a little leery of him after the election with his exit polls evidence of fraud, and since the launch of Stein & Co. recount fund, I became a lot more suspicious of him. Palast has been running quite the campaign for Stein & Co.’s recount on twitter and perhaps elsewhere. Now, as you pointed out, there’s no concrete evidence of fraud by the experts, and Palast’s tweets are foremost reflected upon his concerns about provisional ballots, Crosscheck, and voting rights restrictions — not Russia (AFAIK). However, he promotes that *as if* that is what the recount is about, not what Stein & Co. has said. I fail to see how the recount could validate his reporting any further, I was already under the impression that Crosscheck & voting restrictions did it’s damage long ago. Is it fair to say Palast is being shitty for his own gain, and if so, should he also be thrown in along with Stein?

    • Tarzie says:

I don’t follow Palast closely enough to have an opinion. Just generally I think obsessing on vote fraud, at least in national elections, misses the forest for the trees. I’ll care about vote fraud when I care who wins.

  4. diane says:

Bury them all, until there comes a time the first item on the menu is an [off line, real life] correcting of generation upon generation of Off Line poverty ridden for the benefit of Capital™ over life.

Can’t wait – albeit bleakly – for that solar storm which forces people to acknowledge and rely on their local neighbors, instead of skivving them in the back for Capital™.

If there’s a leader, that person should first be chosen by lottery, at least there would be far better odds of finding someone who actually cares about other living beings beyond themselves.

    • Tarzie says:

Yeah, I’ve often thought a draft for political service would be infinitely preferable to what we have now. It would be literal suicide for the ruling class to let that happen.

      • diane says:

yes, homey, that along with a lottery for those who become war [for Capital™ ] fodder in order to have food and shelter over their heads.

  5. So Far Right says:

The link for “sneering at Soros” is empty.

Stein might be getting “go away” money. She could be a progressive gadfly in the Democratic rebuilding process, which Soros et. al. don’t want. If she disappears from public view we’ll have a better idea of her motives.

Are you tired of Hilary losing yet?

  6. No soy yo says:

In both Michigan and Wisconsin, Stein’s votes equal more than the difference between Trump and Clinton, and if it matters who won between R and D, then the arguments that a vote for Stein is a vote for Trump become validated.

  7. Richard Estes says:

Stein has always craved social acceptance from liberals and progressives aligned with the Democratic Party. She so wants to be taken seriously. She signaled this in a quite embarrassing way when she endorsed the No Fly No Buy fake filibuster in support of a no fly list based upon racial and religious profiling. Having failed to achieve her ambition at the polls, she has seized upon a recount as a means of doing so.

    • Tarzie says:

Thanks for this. Have put it in an update.

      • roastyagain says:

        She really nails Stein here:

“The decision to pursue a recount was not made in a democratic or a strategic way, nor did it respect the established decision making processes and structures of the Green Party of the United States (GPUS). The recount has created confusion about the relationship between the Green and Democratic parties because the states chosen for the recount are only states in which Hillary Clinton lost. I hadn’t even thought about the fact that there were Clinton wins that should have been recounted as well- it doesn’t get much clearer in the shilling, great context there.

      • Tarzie says:

I hadn’t even thought about the fact that there were Clinton wins that should have been recounted as well- it doesn’t get much clearer in the shilling, great context there.

The more I think about it, the more ambivalent I am about that argument myself. If you’re going to base your recount almost entirely on the fact that emails got hacked, and your aim is a defense of disenfranchised voters, it sorta makes sense to focus on the the states where hacking seems to have succeeded. However, considering the importance of the Green Party remaining independent of the Democrats, a random assortment of battleground states would have served the Green objectives better, but provided less incentive to fund it. To me, the cascade of wrong begins with blaming the russkies for everything and the ’emails got hacked ergo so did the vote’ reasoning, even though there’s very little evidence of tampering.

There is no question that this recount would not be happening had Trump lost and complained of tampering. All lefties are Democrats at heart though many won’t admit it to themselves. You can only infer it from their actions.

What I increasingly find bizarre is that Trump is not implicated at all. It’s as if he was just the passive beneficiary of Russian meddling. For all we know, these irregularities are the result of hacking, but hacking that was a domestic effort entirely separate from anything the Russians did — if indeed they did anything — to liberate the emails.

      • roastyagain says:

Oops just realized you quoted the same in your update, you can delete that re-quote of mine.

      • roastyagain says:

I can’t figure out how to reply in-line to your comment, so apologies if this is out of reply order, but…

“The more I think about it, the more ambivalent I am about that argument myself. If you’re going to base your recount almost entirely on the fact that emails got hacked, it sorta makes sense to focus on the the states where hacking seems to have succeeded. However, considering the importance of the Green Party remaining independent of the Democrats, a random assortment of battleground states would have served the cause better. To me, the cascade of wrong begins with blaming the russkies for everything and the ’emails got hacked ergo so did the vote’ reasoning, even though there’s very little evidence of tampering.”

This is entirely true – although from a Green perspective the partisan hackery is certainly more important than to you or I.

“What I increasingly find bizarre is that Trump is not implicated at all. It’s as if he was just the passive beneficiary of Russian meddling. For all we know, these irregularities are the result of hacking, but hacking that was a domestic effort entirely separate from anything the Russians did — if indeed they did anything — to liberate the emails.”

The more I think about this, I wonder if the point is just to blame the Russians, period – no other motive. Put it this way – if they do a recount and Hillary wins, she’ll be pressing the button to launch missiles before Obama’s chair is cold; if they do a recount and nothing changes, Dems can holler for the next 4 years about the impending threat of Russian hacking ‘just like last time’, put whichever neoliberal terminator they want in office, and then push the button.

Letting Trump stand as a “passive beneficiary” might just be so that it can be entirely externalized? I don’t know, that really is bizarre.

      • Tarzie says:

In light of the fake news bullshit, there really does seem to be a full court press against Russia and that’s what’s driving a lot of propaganda right now. I think the only thing provocative about the alt-right is their opposition to globalization and their indifference to Russia. The ruling class doesn’t give a fuck about the rest so long as it doesn’t rouse too much opposition.

  8. No soy yo says:

I had read Bruce Dixon’s defense of the recount and didn’t find it convincing, either. He says “persuasive evidence exists that the vote totals were tampered with in several states,” and since Jill says it was foreign hackers, he is joining that charge whether he admits to it or not.

Then he talks about a different kind of voter suppression and tampering that has nothing to do with hacking — by foreign agents or otherwise. The only area where I consistently disagree with the folks at BAR is third-party voting and Jill stein, and this piece didn’t change my mind. Hopefully this election season will finally end one day, though, and we can have a short reprieve before 2020.

  9. Rob Payne says:

Yeah, I’ve appreciated Black Agenda Report for some time now. But I’m not on board with Bruce Dixon here. As far as I’m concerned to vote is to give your stamp of approval for the State violence perpetrated against other nations for capitalist market penetration, that is to say making the predators at the top richer (Oh God! he’s a purist!).The only bright spot in all this shit is as you say, the end of the Clintons. It’s also the end of the house of Bush after Jeb fell on his face tripping over his own dumb ass. Yet this only means they will be replaced with the same types of scum. A rose by any other name, albeit a stinky one. I recall reading Trump only got 23 percent of the total voting population which hardly gives him a mandate. This election is probably as close as we’ll ever come to nobody voting, something I’d love to witness. Yes, I know that nobody voting isn’t realistic, too many morons out there. I think Stein is just another opportunist like all leaders and wannabe leaders. Expecting the “system” to fix itself is a fool’s errand. I think the system is working the way it’s intended to work and Trump became the darling of the .01 percent after Hillary no longer looked viable to them, but who the fuck knows. And what’s so great about Democracy anyway. What’s fair about a given majority lording it over a minority even in a fair election. It seems to me the majority is more often wrong about everything than not anyway.

    • Tarzie says:

Yeah. I was thinking about how all the hyperventilating about fascism elides the quotidian horror of capitalism. I’m increasingly disinclined to split hairs between different forms of state violence. It is my sincere wish that Clinton voters convinced that the lesser evil calculations they make at the expense of the powerless are superior to the calculations Trump voters make, live out the rest of their days in a FEMA camp beginning in January.

      • No soy yo says:

“It is my sincere wish that Clinton voters convinced that the lesser evil calculations they make at the expense of the powerless are superior to the calculations Trump voters make, live out the rest of their days in a FEMA camp beginning in January.”

Or Yemen, Libya, Honduras, Syria, Iraq, etc.

Some of the logic in defending the idea that rhetoric is more important than action is mind-boggling. Joe Romm has a piece talking about the fact that having climate-denying Priebus as Chief of Staff will be oh-so-terrible. But the evidence he gives is that the Chief of Staff is such a powerful position was the fact that Rahm Emmanuel was able to keep Obama from doing anything on climate change, despite the fact that Obama had science people as Secretary of Energy, etc. What? He even repeats the story about Rahm freaking out about Secretary Chu talking about Sea Level Rise, “which led Emanuel to yell at deputy chief of staff Jim Messina, ‘If you don’t kill [Chu], I’m going to.’”

        https://thinkprogress.org/trump-climate-change-bunk-28c5c44cee#.d5jadenyn

What exactly is the difference between having a non-denier Rahm Emmanuel halt all action on climate and having denier Priebus halting all action on climate? Well, with the former liberals can feel good as we burn up and/or drown.

    • Harpfool says:

I don’t get this celebration of the “end of the Clintons”/”end of the house of Bush” thing. Is Chelsea Clinton shackled to her bed? Have Jeb, W and the rest no offspring? Celebrity culture and politics have completely fused in the decades since Reagan (Trump at this point being the ultimate achievement), and offspring of the successful in all areas of entertainment – including politics – catapult themselves into the public eye. I see no reason to cheer at the failures of individual members of these pathetic clans while propagation guarantees a pretty much unlimited store of no-talent entitled rich assholes to come. Let’s not forget that W and Jeb were round 3 of the Bush family cancer…

      • Harpfool says:

Sorry, badly worded on my part, There is every reason to cheer the individual departures but no reason to extrapolate from them that their dynasties are gone for good, when what these families seem to do best is metastasize in the body politic.

      • I think it’s the fact that both families can be forever mocked for blowing such easy lay-ups. How did Jeb! go from being the supposed smarter Bush kid to getting trolled out of the race by Trump?

  10. Paley Chayd says:

I think the Government knew better than the polls just how close the election was going to be. For whatever reason, they decided they wanted Trump instead of Clinton and Comey gave it a last minute nudge to ensure his victory. The Government supports these recounts because they know they will confirm Trump’s victory. His idiot supporters will believe that “democracy” isn’t so bad after all, and Berniebots think if they just work a little harder they can make a difference next time. Stein is just a tool, perhaps unwitting, helping to keep the masses believing that the system isn’t totally rigged after all.

  11. Rob Payne says:

It seems to me that governments can define themselves however they want but it all adds up to basically the same thing in the end. I’d love see Clinton voters get some of their own medicine in a FEMA camp. God they’re such snooty snobs. And they know everything! Just ask them and they’ll tell you.

Your site is one of the few places that gives me the small comfort of observing that the entire country has gone bats hit crazy, taking refuge in one format or another of some twisted Stockholm Syndrome.

    • Tarzie says:

The repudiations are so weak. I don’t expect them to throw her under a bus, but the emphasis on how this “appears” as opposed to what it fucking is is really weak. They’re using corporate-speak.

Her interviews about this are bizarre. Can barely explain why she’s doing it. Presumably she’s punched her ticket with the Greens. Maybe that was the plan.

This entire thing really stinks. Reflects poorly on the whole outfit. Can’t say I’m surprised. The Green Party is programmed to fail. It’s the only thing it does well.

the brilliantly transgressive film ‘Man Down’

Is this facetious? I don’t know anything about the movie but what I just read on Rotten Tomatoes. The huge disparity between critics and audience assessment is certainly interesting.

      • Hummus says:

A guy I work with saw it, was Navy, hated it. Thought it was anti war, anti military, anti soldier. It wasn’t anti soldier. It is worth a watch for some really cynical filmmaking, and once you watch it you immediately get why the critics hate it.

  19. Hieroglyph says:

It’s interesting how often left politicians manage to render themselves irrelevant, with seemingly no aid from outside. So, cheerio Jill Stein, another chump depth-charging their career on behalf of the Clintons. I hope that she’s merely responding to the usual Clinton Inc. coercion, that’s a least a valid rationale. I now put her in the same category as Bernie – someone I’ve never found especially convincing – with all the other handwringers and fake-leftists, who disappear as soon as their usefulness is over. She may well turn up on the Democratic ticket, giving us all final proof of her irrelevance.

The agonies and contortion that left writers have put themselves in, in order to defend Clinton, have been demeaning and rather shameful. Trump may well be a rich Manhattan douchebag, a low tax Republican, and a shark, but he’s no Clinton. He’s already defused tensions with Russia, looks as though he’ll axe TPP, and is considering re-negotiating NAFTA; these are policies, of course, which the left should be praising him for, or at the very least giving him some modest recognition, if it still hurts too much. Instead, he is still The Enemy, and A Fascist, a description so dumb as to be scarcely worth arguing with. Clinton is a massive crook, and fought a dismal campaign, the worst campaign I’ve personally ever seen, and still some want a recount. Truly there is no helping some people.

A cursory glance at the Democratic Party shows it to be husk of an institution, entirely sucked dry by the Clinton Inc parasite; there is no life, and it is very much dead. Long term this may be a good thing, and hopefully the Clinton’s themselves will fuck off to somewhere without an extradition treaty, and leave the US alone. Maybe they can take Blair with them, we’re thoroughly sick of that chancer, too.

I’ve concluded that the most useful way to regard the US Left — in its entirety, right down to its Twitter fringes, even, sadly, the fringes that I like — is as a highly efficient, largely automatic, self-regulating system that leverages the moral bankruptcy, willful ignorance, infantilism and selfishness of the upper middle class toward warding off any and all threats to global capital. The only sane thing for USians to do is reject it all and start over with something that puts would-be class traitors in the rear seats and regards them warily, or simply ignore it, get on with your life until the world or a would be hegemon decides Empire has very much overstayed its welcome and mobilizes accordingly.

If the Democratic Party is a husk of an institution, then good for Hillary Clinton for bringing that about. It has always been awful. The more dysfunctional it is, the better.

Considering Stein couldn’t even get her party behind her I wondered if she was coerced myself. Certainly no crime is beyond the interests involved here, including murder. But her embarrassing interviews suggest she is the quintessential booj dolt, a thoroughly repulsive, disingenuous power yapper to rival Greenwald, and, it would seem, a true believer in her idiotic mission. In light of irregularities that her stupid fucking recount revealed in Clinton-won Wayne County Michigan, I’m wondering if the Clinton team’s reluctance to call for the recount themselves was fear that it might reveal their own cheating. The conventional wisdom that they didn’t want to look like hypocrites and sore losers hardly rings true in light of their utter shamelessness. In which case, Stein isn’t even carrying water. She’s either a self-dealing charlatan or a complete idiot.
